Best Essential Oils to Help Sooth Teeth and Gums

You may want to try some essential oils to help sooth teeth and gums and Clove essential oil is the most recommend. It is suggested to first mix clove with fractionated coconut oil, then dab a little on your finger and rub it on the gums. I didn’t get in to essential oils until recently so I haven’t had a chance to try any essential oils on my own babies but I found some helpful information from others about essential oils and soothing teeth and gums you may like…

Always dilute oils in a carrier oil (like fractionated coconut oil or olive oil) before using it on your baby. Apply Lavender essential oil on the infant’s feet and then Melaleuca essential oil or Lavender essential oil on the gum. Other resources suggested applying:

  • Melaleuca essential oil
  • White Fir essential oil
  • Myrrh essential oil
  • OnGuard
  • Serenity

  1. How do you dilute the lavender for the application on the gum area for a baby? Thanks in advance. I am in dire need.

  2. Thanks for all the tips! New to essential oils and everything I google pulls up your site. Thanks for the great info!

  3. I am just getting into essential oils. Just bought one and plan on buying three more to try them out. Can’t wait! Really looking forward to trying lavender.

  4. I am experiencing mild teething with twins, and very recently started researching the benefits of EO. Thank you for this post! Can’t wait to try some!!!!

  5. I’m reading this at the perfect time for my 5 1/2 month old. I need to try some of my oils, but I’ve been afraid of using them on him. I’ll have to give lavender and melaleuca a try when he wakes up.

  6. I have had friends use clove mixed with FCO and it was very successful. You can also apply lavender to the jaw line for soothing and comfort.

  7. Clove essential oil is safe to use on babies… My only suggestion is to dilute it with FCO. It is pretty potent if it isn’t dilute and could be too strong for your babe.
